Lot 4004 VERY FINE CONFEDERATE JS ANCHOR KERR REVOLVER.
Cal. 44. S# 9032. The London Armoury Co. produced about 11,000 large 54 bore revolvers from 1859-1866. The largest part of that production was purchased by the Confederacy, and most have the Confederate inspection mark of John Southgate, "JS/anchor" and this marking is especially crisp on this revolver. 7 Kerr revolvers are known by S# used by Company H, 18th Virginia Cavalry listed on the squad roll of Lt. Julian Pratt, July 1864. The 7 guns on Pratt's list are in S# range 9240-9974. This is a beautiful and high condition example of a normally well-worn Confederate revolver.
